These are food, family, and philosophy.\u201d\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>The boy picks up his date and they go to a soda fountain.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>Ice cream sodas in front of them, they stare at each other for a long time, as the boy\u2019s nervousness builds.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>He remembers his father\u2019s advice, and chooses the first topic.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>He asks the girl: <strong>\u201cDo you like spinach?\u201d She says <strong>\u201cNo,\u201d and the silence returns.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>After a few more uncomfortable minutes, the boy thinks of his father\u2019s suggestion and turns to the second item on the list.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>He asks, <strong>\u201cDo you have a brother?\u201d Again, the girl says <strong>\u201cNo\u201d and there is silence once again.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>The boy then plays his last card.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>He thinks of his father\u2019s advice and asks the girl the following question:\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'><strong>\u201cIf you had a brother, would he like spinach?\u201d\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A boy is about to go on his first date, and is nervous about what to talk about.
