\nFrom their glamorous wedding which was broadcast and seen by more than 29.19 million viewers, to the birth of their children Archie Mountbatten-Windsor and Lilibet Diana, their split from the Firm and all the accusations they made against the members of the royal family, the Sussex Royals\u2019 every move has been closely followed by the media. That same media which \u201cforced\u201d them to leave the U.K. and move to the States.\n
Back in 2019, Meghan said in an ITV interview that she had been warned by her friends about the potential \u2018war\u2019 with the media in case she marries Harry.\n
\u201cIt\u2019s hard. I don\u2019t think anybody can understand that. In all fairness, I had no idea, which probably sounds difficult to understand, but when I first met Harry, my friends were so excited, my US friends were happy because I was happy,\u201d Meghan said.\n
The Duchess added: \u201cI never thought that this would be easy, but I thought it would be fair, and that\u2019s the part that\u2019s really hard to reconcile.\u201d She continued: \u201cI\u2019ve said for a long time to H \u2013 that\u2019s what I call [Harry] \u2013 it is not enough to just survive something. That\u2019s not the point of life. You\u2019ve got to thrive and feel happy.\u201d\n
\u201cI really tried to adopt this British sensibility of a stiff upper lip. I tried, I really tried. But I think what that does internally is probably really damaging,\u201d she added.\n
Megxit had been a tough blow for the British royal family, and sadly, as years go by, Harry and Meghan\u2019s relationship with the rest of the family is getting worse.\n

King Charles has always been very supportive of Harry and Meghan, but their actions following their separation from the family has only angered him.\n
Shortly after they stepped down from their royal duties, Harry and Meghan gave interview to Oprah in which they revealed that there were conversations about how dark Archie\u2019s skin would be before he was born.\n
\u201cIn those months when I was pregnant, all around this same time. So we have in tandem the conversation of \u2018he won\u2019t be given security, he\u2019s not going to be given a title\u2019 and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he\u2019s born,\u201d Meghan Markle recalled.\n
At one point during the interview, Meghan said: \u201cI don\u2019t know how they could expect, after all of this time, we would still just be silent if there is an active role that the firm is playing in perpetuating falsehoods about us. If that comes with risk of losing things\u2026there\u2019s a lot that\u2019s been lost already.\u201d\n
As she didn\u2019t feel like receiving any help from the family when she opened up of her mental issues, Meghan became suicidal.\n

\u201cI just didn\u2019t see a solution. I would sit up at night, and I was just, like, I don\u2019t understand how all of this is being churned out. And, again, I wasn\u2019t seeing it, but it\u2019s almost worse when you feel it through the expression of my mom or my friends, or them calling me crying, just, like, \u2018Meg, they\u2019re not protecting you\u2019. And I realized that it was all happening just because I was breathing,\u201d she explained.\n
\u201cI was really ashamed to say it at the time and ashamed to have to admit it to Harry, especially, because I know how much loss he\u2019s suffered. But I knew that if I didn\u2019t say it, that I would do it. And I just didn\u2019t want to be alive anymore. And that was a very clear and real and frightening constant thought,\u201d Meghan added.\n

\u201cAnd I remember how he just cradled me. I went to the institution, and I said that I needed to go somewhere to get help. I said that, \u2018I\u2019ve never felt this way before, and I need to go somewhere\u2019. And I was told that I couldn\u2019t, that it wouldn\u2019t be good for the institution.\u201d\n
According to reports, following the infamous Oprah interview, Meghan sent then-prince Charles a letter in which she explained that she never intended to accuse the royal family of racism but rather to discuss the unconscious bias.\n
Charles sent a response to Meghan where he expressed his sadness over the tensions within the family, specifically between Harry & Meghan and the rest of The Firm. The then-prince was believed to have been the only senior member of the royal family to reach out to the Duchess after the Oprah interview.\n \u201cNo,\u201d Harry said. \u201cThe British press said that, right? Did Meghan ever mention \u2018they\u2019re racists?\u2019\u201d\n \u201cThe difference between racism and unconscious bias\u2026 the two things are different.
