They couldn\u2019t keep the cat themselves, so they took the miserable kitten home to bathe it.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>In response, Harrisonburg Police Department Officer Timothy Rugg agreed to pick up the cat and take it to the local SPCA. But the cat soon grew connected to her new human companion, scuttling up to cuddle on his neck.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>\u201cShe was concealed beneath a couch,\u201d Officer Rugg informed WHSV. I grabbed her by reaching underneath. She climbed up on my shoulder right away, perched like a parrot, and began purring.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>When they got to the SPCA, the kitten wouldn\u2019t leave the officer\u2019s side, and Rugg found the facility was almost full, according to the police department. Rugg recognized it as an indication that they were destined to be together.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>He told WHSV, \u201cI just thought she wanted to be with me.\u201d \u201cI thought I was a dog person, but we clicked right away, and I knew I had to bring her along.\u201d\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>Officer Rugg took the kitten, who was now named Charlie, home after completing a foster application. Now, both of them bring out the best in one another.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>When I first received her, she was really afraid, but now she\u2019s really active.
